SPECIAL THANKS BOWL HISTORY HONORS GEORGIA 114 | 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl TCU BOWL EVENTS WELCOME Since joining the Big 12 Conference in 2012, the TCU Athletic Department has poured nearly $300 million into donor-funded construction projects to help the Horned Frogs be successful on and off the field. A new $164 million Amon G. Carter Stadium debuted in September 2012, while a $72 million renovation of TCU’s longtime basketball facility saw the opening of the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena in December 2015. DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS CHRIS DEL CONTE Most recently, a $7.5 million project at Charles and Marie Lupton Baseball Stadium at Williams-Reilly Field, completed in February 2016, saw the creation of a new locker room, classroom, team lounge, sports medicine center, equipment room, alumni locker room and coaches’ offices as well as a new video board. This came after the opening of the G. Malcolm Louden Player Development Center for Baseball in 2014. A new locker room facility opened in Fall 2016 for the volleyball program. In its opening four-plus years of Big 12 play, TCU has won conference team championships in football, baseball and men’s tennis. In 2015-16, TCU saw five sports (football, baseball, men’s tennis, rifle, equestrian) finish in the top 10 with two others (men’s golf, men’s indoor track and field) in the top 20. Baseball reached the College World Series for the third straight season. Rifle and equestrian were national runners-up, while Ronnie Baker repeated as the NCAA’s indoor track and field champion in the 60 meters. In 2014-15, TCU won its first Big 12 football championship in just its third season in the conference and finished third in season-ending polls. The TCU baseball team captured the Big 12 regular-season championship and made its second straight trip to the CWS. Men’s tennis reached the Final Four, rifle finished third in the nation and men’s golf was 10th at the NCAA Championships. Baker won the NCAA indoor championship in the 60 meters, while the 4x100 outdoor relay team finished second in the nation. In all, 12 sports reached the postseason. The Horned Frogs’ success story also extends to the classroom. In Spring 2016, TCU student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA higher than 3.0 for its highest mark on record. Eighty-eight student-athletes earned degrees in 2015-16. TCU ATHLETICS
