SPECIAL THANKS BOWL HISTORY HONORS GEORGIA 134 | 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl TCU BOWL EVENTS WELCOME GAME 10: Oklahoma State 31, TCU 6 Nov. 19 | Fort Worth, TX After topping TCU in a 31-6 victory Saturday, Oklahoma State will be playing for the Big 12 championship in their next game. They have won seven in a row since losing their conference opener at Baylor. The Cowboys (9-2, 7-1, No. 11 CFP) became the first team with two 100-yard rushers against TCU since 2007. Freshman running back Justice Hill (154 yards on 16 carries) and Carson (146 yards on 17 carries) combined for 182 yards after halftime when Oklahoma State added to a 10-6 lead. ‘’I told our team that in 2006-07-08-09, that’s how we used to finish games. That’s what we were known for around here a long time,’’ coach Mike Gundy said. ‘’It makes it a lot easier for me to sleep when we know we can run the ball.’’ And it’s a big reason the Cowboys, who finished with 334 yards rushing and 541 overall, can become Big 12 champions if they beat eighth-ranked Oklahoma in their regular-season finale after an open date. Oklahoma State scored on its only two drives in the third quarter to go ahead 24-6. Carson had his bruising 19-yard TD run and Rudolph scored on a 2-yard keeper after a 63- yard catch-and-run by Lacy. TCU (5-5, 3-4) had a chance to take the lead in the final minute of the first half after a 40- yard run by quarterback Kenny Hill. But Oklahoma State had a goal-line stand to preserve a 10-6 lead going into halftime. DENZEL JOHNSON RECORDED A CAREER-HIGH 15 TACKLES AGAINST OKLAHOMA STATE, INCLUDING 2.0 TACKLES FOR LOSS. GAME 11: TCU 31, Texas 9 QNov. 25 | Austin, TX uarterback Kenny Hill ran for two touchdowns and TCU beat Texas 31-9, sending Longhorns coach Charlie Strong to a crushing loss in what was his last game at Texas. Hill scored TCU’s first touchdown with a 4-yard run that capped the Horned Frogs’ first drive. He scored again in the third quarter on a 41-yard scamper that saw him break away from a pass rush and dart along the right sideline to the end zone for a 17-9 lead. TCU (6-5, 4-4 Big 12) blew it open in the fourth quarter when Trevorris Johnson capped a 97-yard touchdown drive with a 5-yard TD and Darius Anderson ran 70-yards for a score. Texas (5-7, 3-6) running back D’Onta Foreman rushed for 165 yards for and passed 2,000 yards on the season. DARIUS ANDERSON, WHO HAD JUST 92 YARDS RUSHING ENTERING THE GAME AT TEXAS, POSTED HIS FIRST CAREER 100-YARD EFFORT WITH 103 YARDS ON THREE ATTEMPTS. NO OTHER PLAYER IN TCU HISTORY HAD REACHED 100 YARDS ON FEWER CARRIES. ANDERSON’S CAREER-LONG 70-YARD CARRY RESULTED IN HIS FIRST CAREER TOUCHDOWN.
