GEORGIA TCU BOWL HISTORY SPECIAL THANKS 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl | 161 WELCOME BOWL EVENTS HONORS MISS AUTOZONE LIBERTY BOWL Sylandi Brown The AutoZone Liberty Bowl welcomes Sylandi Brown as queen of the 58th Annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl. After being crowned the 2015 Hawkinsville High School Homecoming Queen, Sylandi competed and captured the title of Georgia’s Homecoming Queen. This past July, she was selected as the 2016 America’s Homecoming Queen and Miss AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Sylandi is a freshman honors student at Valdosta State University where she is a Speech Communication major. She is actively involved in the Baptist Collegiate Ministries, Honors Student Association and Residence Hall Association Area Council as Vice President of her residence hall. She graduated as the Salutatorian of her senior class at Hawkinsville High School, while being awarded the highest overall average for both her 12th grade class and her entire school. She also graduated with 24 college credits obtained as a dual enrollment student at Middle Georgia State University and Central Georgia Technical College. Also while in high school, Sylandi served as Senior Class President, a leadership team member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the 4-H Sigma Lambda Chi 1st Vice-President, a Certified Teen Leader, a Health Rocks and Global Awareness Ambassador, and a member of the Beta Club. In the summer of 2013, Sylandi founded a youth mentorship program known as R.E.A.C.H. (Reaching Excellence Amongst Children’s Hearts), which focuses on aiding middle school students throughout their middle school years in preparation for high school, college, and the future workforce. She is a 2014 Governor’s Honors Program alumni, where she was a Communicative Arts major and Counseling minor. While in high school, Sylandi was on the cross country and tennis teams, in addition to being the Feature Twirler of the band. She has written a successful grant for the restoration of a local historic school in Pulaski County (Ga.), and is the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Youth Leadership Council representative and National Spokesperson. Additionally, Sylandi is The American Legion Post, District, Area and Department of Georgia Oratorical Champion. In the future, she hopes to utilize her passion for public speaking and education as a speaker for a philanthropic organization. Sylandi feels incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to represent and serve Georgia, America and the 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
