GEORGIA TCU BOWL HISTORY SPECIAL THANKS 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl | 163 WELCOME BOWL EVENTS HONORS AutoZone Liberty Bowl Honors Over the AutoZone Liberty Bowl’s 58-year history, one of the AMERICA’S HOMECOMING QUEENS Bowl’s trademark traditions is its colorful and patriotic pageantry. A wonderful part of the game day experience is the group of AutoZone Liberty Bowl Homecoming Queens who have come to Memphis from all across America. These young ladies are chosen by the Bowl’s selection committee as the top Homecoming Queens from each of the 50 states. Only the most qualified and deserving young ladies are chosen to represent their community and state in this national program. While in Memphis this week, the Homecoming Queens have enjoyed a whirlwind of events and activities. After their arrival, they were welcomed to Memphis and the AutoZone Liberty Bowl at a reception held at their host hotel, the DoubleTree By Hilton Downtown. This event offered the young ladies and their families an opportunity to meet each other and prepare for a memorable week in the Bluff City. Yesterday, the annual Homecoming USA Luncheon was held in honor of the Queens at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. In addition to a delightful meal, these young role models had the pleasure of hearing from various representatives of the Bowl and the Bowl’s charitable partner, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ®. From there, the festivities moved to historic Beale Street for the thrilling experience of the Bowl’s action-packed Beale Street Parade. Each Homecoming Queen was adorned in a special outfit designed exclusively for the Queens and this special appearance in the Bowl’s annual parade in front of thousands of fans. The Queens’ non-stop schedule continues today here at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium for the 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Today, the Homecoming Queens will take the field to participate in both the patriotic pre-game show and the high-energy halftime spectacular. These young ladies will be wearing white gowns to symbolize the “White” portion of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl’s “Red, White and Blue” patriotic theme. They will be escorted on the field by members of the Tennessee Air National Guard during the pre-game festivities. At halftime, they will be back in the spotlight as a focal point of the halftime show. They will join dancers and musicians from across America, as well as the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. The AutoZone Liberty Bowl congratulates these young ladies on their selection as a member of today’s Homecoming Queens contingent. We wish them the best in their future endeavors as they take countless memories with them from their exciting, fun-filled experiences in Memphis and the 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
