2016 Liberty Bowl

SPECIAL THANKS BOWL HISTORY HONORS TCU GEORGIA 56 | 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl BOWL EVENTS WELCOME 2016 PRE-GAME FESTIVITIES One of the great traditions of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl is the annual recognition and celebration of American patriotism during the pre-game festivities. Today, that red, white and blue tradition continues, as the AutoZone Liberty Bowl celebrates America. The field will be filled with red, white and blue decorations and performers, as the AutoZone Liberty Bowl delivers another rousing, patriotic pre-game show. The star-spangled celebration will feature two special presentations. The first will be a U.S. Marine Corps swearing-in ceremony. Then get on your feet for an extraordinary National Anthem performance by Miss Tennessee, Grace Burgess. At the conclusion of the anthem, be sure to look up and see the FedEx Flyover, when one of FedEx’s new Boeing 777 jets makes a pass over Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. During these special presentations, members of the Tennessee Air National Guard (TANG) will be escorting Miss AutoZone Liberty Bowl, Sylandi Brown, and other Homecoming USA attendants onto the field. Each attendant was selected as Homecoming Queen and invited to represent her community and state in this national program. The winner of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl High School Marching Band Field Competition will also be performing during today’s pre-game festivities. Today’s performing high school band will have competed in this week’s WorldStrides OnStage field competition, which involved more than a dozen bands from throughout the United States vying for the opportunity to perform during the pre-game festivities. Joining our many performers on the field are honorary captains representing some of the valued corporate partners supporting this year’s AutoZone Liberty Bowl. To conclude today’s pre-game festivities, the game ball will be presented to Scott Barber, President of the 58th AutoZone Liberty Bowl. GRACE BURGESS – MISS TENNESSEE 2016
