Pistons in the Community The family members of Detroit Pistons players, coaches, and executives make up the Pistons with a Purpose group that aims to give back to the local community with events throughout the season. In partnership with Farm Bureau Insurance, the Pistons will focus on reinforcing education and development by providing workshops and reading appearances for local community centers and schools. In partnership with Meijer, the Pistons will host a Thanksgiving event for local with non-profit partner Forgotten Harvest. The Pistons will also give back during the winter holidays by hosting a shopping spree, assisting Toys For Tots, a special home giveaway and providing other player-led initiatives to those in need. Pistons players and coaches visit with patients being treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital when the team plays in Memphis and local St. Jude patient families will be invited to a special Pistons home game during Hoops for St. Jude Week in March. 104 Detroit Pistons 2016–17 Yearbook In partnership with Belfor, the Pistons will utilize an exclusive, Pistonswrapped bus to bring organizations to selected Pistons home games. These opportunities are aimed at exposing under-served, deserving youth to sports and entertainment experiences.
