2017 Baltimore Ravens Yearbook

WHAT’S THE GOOD WORD? NFL.com’s Adam Schein on the Ravens’ offseason (March 20, 2017): “Quietly and unsurprisingly, Baltimore has enjoyed a very solid offseason thus far, with the additions of Tony Jefferson and Danny Woodhead, as well as the re-upping of Brandon Williams. The Ravens have such a fantastic front office, and a strong coach in John Harbaugh.” NFL.com’s Conor Orr on the Ravens’ 2017 draft class (May 4, 2017): “Ozzie Newsome on a mission is one of the most enjoyable general managers to watch in football. A year after loading up on mid-round defensive players, Newsome goes corner, outside linebacker, defensive end and outside linebacker before finally drafting a guard in the fourth round. Two of those defensive players – first-round pick Marlon Humphrey and third-round pick Tim Williams – are from Newsome’s sweet spot in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The continued effort to re-engineer the Ravens’ defense has been a joy to watch and, at the moment, the team seems to have enough utility players to match up with all the diverse weapons in the division.” ESPN’s Mel Kiper on Steve Bisciotti (April 24, 2017): “I think you have a Hall of Fame owner in Steve Bisciotti. It’s great to have Steve Bisciotti – a local guy who loves this area, loves Annapolis, loves Baltimore, loves Maryland. Steve Bisciotti is a phenomenal owner. Ozzie Newsome is a Hall of Fame GM, and Eric DeCosta is a heck of a personnel evaluator, and they have some very good scouts.” 2017 BALTIMORE RAVENS YEARBOOK 137
