PARTNERSHIP WITH CHICK-FIL-A (1996-2013)
Peach Bowl, Inc. entered a new and prosperous age when it signed Chick-fil-A as its first-ever title sponsor in
1996. The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl began its sellout streak and focused on a new mission to grow its charitable
giving efforts. In 2006, an enhanced partnership with Chick-fil-A resulted in the Bowl dropping the peach from
its name. It was called the Chick-fil-A Bowl until 2014.
During the partnership, Peach Bowl, Inc. eclipsed the $100 million mark in team payouts, achieved 17 straight
sellouts, distributed $16.3 million in charity and scholarship, and hosted the number-one and number-two mostviewed
non-BCS bowl game telecasts in ESPN history. Chick-fil-A Bowl games also made up three of the top 10
and eight of the top-30 most-viewed non-BCS bowl games on the network.
A NEW ERA (2014 AND BEYOND)
The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl made history by being selected to join the Cotton, Fiesta, Orange, Rose and Sugar
Bowls as the hosts for the new College Football Playoff that began in 2014.
As part of its role in the College Football Playoff, a traditional moniker was required, paving the way for bringing
the “Peach” back to its name.
In 2016, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl hosted its first-ever College Football Playoff Semifinal, resulting in a record
$61 million in economic impact, a record television viewership of 19.3 million and an all-time record Georgia
Dome attendance of 74,996.
Most recently, Peach Bowl, Inc. celebrated its 50th Anniversary Golden Season last year as it moved into
the Bowl’s first and
only title sponsor.
