24 | 60th AutoZone Liberty Bowl
SPECIAL THANKS BOWL HISTORY HONORS OKLAHOMA STATE MISSOURI BOWL EVENTS WELCOME
ON BEHALF OF THE MEMPHIS AND SHELBY COUNTY HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY, it is our privilege to welcome football
fans from near and far to the 60th AutoZone Liberty Bowl Football Classic.
This milestone year for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl comes as we also prepare to celebrate the bicentennial of our city in
2019. Memphis is known the world over as the Home of the Blues, Soul & Rock ‘n’ Roll, and it is hard to imagine what music
would be like without the Memphis sound that continues to influence current artists. Our rich music legacy and the Memphis
beat of today, combined with a vibrant live music scene, draw millions of visitors to our city each year. With music around most
every corner, be sure to soak in the sounds of our city as we kick off our celebration of 200 years of heart and soul.
Whether this is your first time to Memphis, or you are a regular who knows the staff by name at your favorite BBQ joint,
take time to explore and experience some of Memphis’ iconic attractions that include the National Civil Rights Museum and
the Smithsonian’s Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, or take a stroll across the mighty Mississippi River via the Big River Crossing at the
Harahan Bridge. Then be sure to enjoy one of our newest amenities found on our riverfront with the nightly Mighty Lights
display as hundreds of thousands of LED lights illuminate both bridges, producing a spectacular nighttime show.
The mission of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl has always been to create an outstanding experience for the student-athletes,
cheerleaders and band members, as well as faculty, staff, alumni and fans attending the game. What makes this annual event
even more special is the ability to use this powerful sports platform to showcase the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital here in Memphis. We hope you find inspiration on and off the field while visiting our city.

After the game, join the entire Mid-South region at the biggest party of the year with a bluesy New Year’s Eve bash on Beale
Street. Throughout the night, celebrate with live music, fireworks, food and a countdown to midnight in Memphis, ringing in
the New Year with thousands of your closest friends and fellow fans.
The holiday season is a special time for family and friends, and we thank you for making the AutoZone Liberty Bowl a part
of your plans this year.
