Brent Rossi is currently in his fifth season as executive vice president of marketing and brand strategy for Pegula Sports and
In his role with the organization, Rossi oversees the day-to-day and long-term marketing and brand objectives for all Pegula
Sports and Entertainment entities. Rossi’s responsibilities include overall brand direction and growth, the development of
marketing strategies and plans, social media, data and analytics, media buying and content creation, as well as ticket sales,
and customer and marketing research. He joined Pegula Sports and Entertainment when it was formed in May 2014 after serving as vice
president of marketing for the Sabres beginning in 2011.
Among his previous roles, Rossi served as the vice president of marketing for the Harlem Globetrotters. His experience also includes stints as
senior manager of live event marketing for World Wrestling Entertainment, director of marketing for the Philadelphia 76ers and marketing
manager for Comcast-Spectacor.
A native of Port Colborne, Ontario, Rossi earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Brock University and a master’s degree
in sports management from Old Dominion University. He and his wife, Jill, currently reside in Clarence with their daughter, Keira, and son,
Michael Gilbert | Sr Vice President – Buffalo Sabres; GM – Harborcenter
Michael Gilbert is in his 22nd season with the Sabres organization and his 24th year overall in the National Hockey
League. Gilbert serves as senior vice president for the Buffalo Sabres, overseeing all daily administrative activities for the
team. As general manager of Harborcenter, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the complex and oversees all
of its properties, including the Buffalo Marriott Harborcenter, (716) Food and Sport, the Academy of Hockey, The Buffalo
Jr. Sabres and The Rinks.
Gilbert also serves as the primary contact for all USA Hockey and NCAA Hockey initiatives related to the Sabres and Harborcenter. He was
the chairman of the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship, which was held in Buffalo last season. His relationship with USA Hockey also
led him to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, where he joined Team USA as a member of the team’s public relations staff. Gilbert
is a board member for the Buffalo Sabres Foundation, the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, the Police Athletic League (PAL) and Buffalo Place
Buffalo Civic Auto Ramps (BCAR), and serves on the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame Committee.
Prior to his current role, Gilbert oversaw the public relations and community relations departments for the Sabres for 19 seasons and was also
responsible for supervising the youth hockey and fan development initiatives for the organization. Additionally, he was intimately involved in
the design and construction of Harborcenter.
Gilbert began the NHL chapter of his career as the director of public relations for the New Jersey Devils from 1995 to 1997. Before his move
to the NHL, he was the assistant director of public relations for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles for four years (1991-1995), assisting with the
day-to-day operations of the team’s public relations department. His football background also includes stints as assistant director of public
relations for the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks of the WLAF (1990) and as a graduate assistant with the Buffalo Bills (1988-1990).
Gilbert grew up in Tonawanda and attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute before graduating from Canisius College in Buffalo in 1990
with degrees in communications and history. He and his wife, Amy, reside in Amherst with their sons, Mark and Jack, and daughter, Grace.
