CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER/EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Kevin Bower is in his 17th year with Pacers Sports & Entertainment and is the organization’s Executive Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer. His duties include management of all financial matters as well as human resources and information technology.
Bower came to PS&E in January 2002 from Alltrista Corporation, formerly a publicly traded manufacturer and distributor of niche
consumer products used in and around the home. He spent nine years at Alltrista and most recently served as Senior Vice President
and Chief Financial Officer.
Bower started his career in 1980 with Schneider & Shuster, a locally-based public accounting firm in Denver, Col. After five years
in Denver he returned to Indiana where he continued his career in public accounting with Price Waterhouse before moving into his
role with Allrista.
Bower, 60, was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., and grew up in South Bend, Ind. He attended Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.,
and graduated with a BS in accounting. He is married to Maureen and they have three children, Erin, Megan and Kevin, and four
Bower is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. He serves on the Boards
of Pacers Foundation, The Indiana Youth Institute, Indiana Chamber of Commerce and St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis, as well as
the Finance Committee of St. Vincent Health and the St. Vincent Foundation. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, golf and traveling.
Chad Buchanan is in his second season with the Pacers as General Manager after taking the position in July, 2017.
Prior to joining the Pacers, Buchanan was with the Charlotte Hornets as Assistant General Manager for three seasons. In that role,
he took part in many aspects of the team’s basketball operations including professional and collegiate scouting, draft preparations,
player acquisitions and salary cap management. He has assumed many of those same duties as the Pacers’ General Manager.
“I know Chad from when I was at Portland and I thought back then he was extremely sharp and gifted when it comes to talent
and what teams need to improve,” said Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard. “I’m very pleased we could add
someone of his caliber and I enjoy working with him. He is very well respected and fits into the culture we have here.”
Before going to Charlotte Buchanan spent 10 seasons with the Trail Blazers, the last seven as Director of College Scouting. He also
served as the team’s Acting General Manager during the 2011-12 season, overseeing the 2011 NBA Draft, player transactions and
free agency. During his time in Portland, Buchanan focused on all college and international scouting, while also managing the
development of the scouting database, organizing pre-draft workouts and assisting with NBA player evaluation.
Prior to joining the Trail Blazers, Buchanan spent eight seasons in college basketball, serving as a graduate assistant at the University
of Iowa from 1995-97 before becoming an assistant coach at Simpson College from 1997-2002. In 2002, he was an assistant coach
and assistant director of player personnel for the Kansas City Knights (ABA), before returning to the college ranks as an assistant
coach at Drake University from 2003-04.
A native of West Des Moines, Iowa, Buchanan played both baseball and basketball for four years at Simpson College, where he
earned a degree in business management in 1995. He went on to receive his master’s in athletic administration from the University
Buchanan and his wife, Melanie, have three children, Treyson, Addilane and Aceio.
