In September, Backstrom, Holtby, Wilson and Segal presented
a $40,511.52 check to Ronald McDonald House
Charities of Greater Washington, DC, the total raised
through the 2017-18 campaign.
The funds benefi ted RMHCDC’s Kids Mobile Medical
Clinic/Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® (KMMC/RMCM),
operated in association with Medstar Georgetown
The mobile unit is a “doctor’s offi ce on wheels,” providing
improved access to quality health care in the directly in

free health care services include primary care, newborn
exams, well child visits, immunizations and more.
During the 2016-17 season, So Kids Can raised
$30,267.88. for Martha’s Table.
Martha’s Table has worked to support stronger children,
families and communities by increasing access to quality
education programs, healthy food and family supports for
more than 35 years.
The funding supported Joyful Food Markets, which increase
access to and encourage consumption of fresh
fruits and vegetables east of the Anacostia River and are
run exclusively in elementary schools in Wards 7 and 8.
Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation and its
teams continue to adopt the Joyful Food Market at Hendley
Elementary School and provide
volunteers to run the market each
month during the school year.
