really, really good at that role of helping guys like
LeBron and AD and even some of the other guys
being better at their roles by just being really good
Favorite basketball memory thus far?

You spent a lot of time this off season becoming
physically stronger, how do you feel that’s going
to help you in your play this year?
“I think I’ll be able to take all the hits and the wear
and tear of all 82 games. It’s the first time I’m ever
going to play a full season with an NBA team, so it’s
going to be different. It’s kind of uncharted waters
for me, but I think just having my body in tip-top
physical shape will help.
What’s one thing about you that may come as a
surprise to fans?
“I like weird sports like ping-pong, golf and soccer.
I play all of those, but I’m not that good at soccer,
but I have a little touch! I’m pretty good at golf
and ping-pong, but I have friends that are much
better jugglers in soccer than I am. Every time the
Olympics come around, I like watching events like
badminton, ping-pong and all the field events in
track. All those things are just so interesting to me.”
Favorite way to spend an off day in LA?
“I’m pretty low key; I usually just hang around the
house, hang out with my girlfriend, maybe go down
to the beach if it’s still warm enough. I live down in
Manhattan Beach, so it’s almost a crime if I don’t go
down there a couple times a month.”
What do you enjoy most about California/L.A.?
“The weather. It’s 75 degrees and sunny year-round.
It’s about to be November and it was like 85 degrees
the other day.”
What do you miss most about Texas?
“The food. We don’t have good TexMex or BBQ food
here. I miss the food a lot. Like a lot.”
