“I ultimately chose to attend MIT because of the educational
opportunities, pursuit of a STEM based future, and because
of the people I met when I visited (the most influential person
being a member of the lacrosse team!). I believed it would
be a place where I could grow and become my best self
because of the well-rounded community that MIT fosters.”

“Having so much support
at our last game against
Endicott last season
from so many students
and faculty made
our entire team feel
supported by all of MIT.”
- Emma Tauckus ‘23
“Being a student athlete is the ultimate MIT supplement. I get
to run around a field and yell and dance and play lacrosse every
day during the season. It’s my favorite time to let out energy
and focus on improving myself outside of the classroom. I also
have more structure in my day and get to essentially have fun
outings to different places in the New England area every other
weekend.” - Trudy Painter ‘23
“MIT is demanding and hard-core, but of course, a rewarding
educational experience. That is why it is awesome to be a
student-athlete; it offers a social and physical escape. I love
the people I have met along the way from teammates, to coaches,
and everyone across the athletic department. I have learned how
to be a better teammate on and off the field, created awesome
memories, and have gotten to travel as well.” - Ali Hoffman ‘22
“Being on the lacrosse team at MIT has given me the
opportunity to join an amazing community of women that is
passionate about excelling on the field and in the classroom.
Being part of a team allows me to direct my competitive
energy towards a larger goal, and my teammates continue to
inspire me to be a better version of myself every single day.”
- Natalia Perez-Lodeiro ‘22
“Every fall, we have each class plan and
lead a team bonding event. The one
my class led our freshman year was a
tournament between pods within our
team. We did events like eating a donut
off a string, doing a three-legged race, and
warming up and putting on a t-shirt from
the freezer.” - Naomi Lutz ‘22
Anne Versprille enters her fifth season as the MIT women’s lacrosse head coach. Under her
tutelage, the Engineers have made three appearances in the NEWMAC Tournament semifinals
and collected 42 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference, 19 NEWMAC All-Conference, 23 IWLCA
Academic Honor Roll, and five IWLCA All-Region honors. MIT has received IWLCA Academic Merit
Squad recognition twice for having the highest team grade point average among all Division III
programs. (FULL BIO)
