“I found my people when I visited MIT, both members of the team
and other pre-frosh at CPW. I knew immediately that my team was
a family on campus and would always be there for me and knew
that I would always be there for them. My quirks really aren’t quirks
at MIT, they’re part of what connects me to the other people here.

“The student-athlete community at MIT is a huge part
of what makes the difficulties of MIT worth it, and I
don’t think I could do it without them. We work our
butts off every day both academically and athletically
to pursue our passions and do what we love. We are
all on this journey together and the love and support
of DAPER and the student-athlete community makes
the good times great and the hard times not so bad.”

“I chose to come to MIT because it is the best university
in the world with regards to both academics and the
learning environment. When I first visited campus, I
saw that everyone genuinely cared about each other
and wanted their peers to succeed. I knew that I would
thrive in this collaborative community while getting a
challenging education.” - Phoebe Li ‘21
“A highlight of our team culture happens in our photo
scavenger hunt during our non-traditional fall season.
Some of the items are taking a picture with Erica or
Nick, Kyle or Chris, Matt and Max, Rob or Derek, getting
to introduce our first-years to the people who support
us every day that not everyone recognizes. This is just
as important to our success as the team itself. It is
always so much fun to get to go and say hi to everyone
after not seeing them since the end of season in the
spring!” - Colleen Campbell ‘21
“I chose to attend MIT
because of a feeling of
belonging I had during my
official visit. This group of
strong, intelligent, passionate
women who share my
interests and have so many
amazing interests of their
own is why I chose to attend
MIT.”- Deborah Torres ‘22
“I choose to attend MIT because the balance between
academics and athletics is perfect. I wanted to attend
a school that placed a high value on academics while
still offering me a competitive athletic experience.
These two factors, along with campus life and the
surrounding area, made MIT the perfect university for
me.” - Jordan Sell ‘23
