“I chose to attend MIT because it provides
the best of both worlds: high-level athletic
competition and unparalleled academics.
There are so many opportunities to participate
in research and interact with amazing faculty.
My freshman year I went to dinner with my
economics professor, Esther Duflo, who
then won the Nobel Prize the next year for
her research in development economics. I
also enjoy that the MIT education focuses on
applying technical knowledge as my course
material is often centered around applications
to real-world challenges and research.”

“Being a student athlete at MIT is a unique
and incredible experience. I get to be a part
of a community of athletes that are passionate
and driven to work hard for their goals. Not only
do I get to play the sport I love with amazing
teammates, but I get to travel across New
England and represent MIT to other schools.”
