The 2019 season was important for the upward trajectory of Fighting Illini Football.
The team has improved by two wins in each of the last two seasons, and this
year’s come-from-behind victories against Wisconsin and Michigan State were
two of the most memorable wins in Illinois Football history. It has been exciting
to watch the players’ confi dence grow, to see them experience success, and to
know that they are hungry to build on this season as we move toward an even
more successful future. The Redbox Bowl experience, with the extra practices,
bowl game environment, and national exposure, will undoubtedly help our
program continue its ascent.
